Miró and Sert in their Own Words: The correspondence between Joan Miró and Josep Lluís Sert – comprehensively compiled for the first time in this publication – offers an essential document for understanding the convergence between these two individuals despite the physical distance that separated them for most of their lifetimes. The correspondence is supplemented with personal statements from Miró and Sert in the form of writings, photographs, sketches, architectural plans, and press clippings. This material has been consulted in the archives of the Josep Lluís Sert Collection at Harvard University, the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Mallorca, the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, and the Successió Miró in Palma de Mallorca. The letters sent from different places and relating in one way or another to their lives and their work become the narrative thread for reconstructing their shared vision, an unfulfilled project that was always in the back of their minds, which in turn shaped their artistic and architectural production.

Miró Mallorca Fundació: A cultural centre based on the art studios that artist Joan Miró bequeathed to the public. It offers visitors an insight into his artwork and underlying creative process in the place where the artist lived and worked for almost 30 years.
